Harifa Daly The Tomato Seller: Step Up From The Streets To Motivational Speaker And Author Of ‘Life Menu’
She first made headlines as the struggling tomato seller who against all odds, overcame the challenges life brought her in South Africa. Harifa Daly made her way to Ireland and since then, she’s been using her experiences to motivate people. If you missed that story, READ IT HERE
In fact, Harifa, has just launched her first book, ‘Life Menu’. The event which was held at the Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport, on 10 July, 2018, saw people from across the world including the UK in attendance.
Life Menu received rave reviews from the critics because of its inspirational approach to real life issues relating to youths and Malawi culture.
Harifa Daly who is also host of Miss D Talk Show, even received recognition from the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, for her inspirational book ‘Life Menu’.
The book is currently in Higgins’ library.
Women Without Limits Founder bought ten copies of Life Menu as give away on Facebook Live to support others. The likes of Yemi Adenuga, Nkemu Dike and Primrose Dodo were also in attendance. MC Shakara was the compère at the launch of Life Menu. Top Irish Malawian awards winner Ibrahim Haji popularly known as Popdogg, entertained with powerful performances. DJ Jay who is known for his unique style and great music was also on hand.
All these would not have been possible without the support of Daly’s close friends like Omoluka Abuede, Mary Appleton and AC Matilda. Harifa also gave a major shoutnout to her daughter, Andriana who supported her and gave a powerful speech that sent the audience into tears.
The motivational speaker also met with Nigerian novelist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
When Amebo Book asked Harifa what prompted her to write a motivational book, she said;
“After going through a lot of challenges in my life at the back of my mind it always reminds me tgat I wasn’t alone, there many more people that might also have challenges, so I decided to share my experiences to help and motivate someone, because I know how it felt to be alone with my thoughts.”
Harifa spends a lot of quality time on charity work. She volunteers with the Sunrise Foundation and travels across the world bringing awareness of the major risk factors for diabetes, such as lack of physical activity, high blood pressure and being overweight.
“Yes, I give my service and time to few organizations in humanitarian work, I volunteer with the sunrise foundation which the give free awareness around the the world, which I traveled to Nigeria in isolo for free awareness about diabetics.”
“Also a volunteer with Sickle Cell Society Ireland Shero’s and culture migrants that deals with migrants in Ireland, yes giving my time by volunteering gives me strength.”
So far, Harifa Daly has risen from that tomato seller to a motivational speaker and author. She has received three powerful awards;

*Excellency Award 2018
