Mary Akinnifesi: 14-Year-Old Housemaid Who Attempted To Kill Her Employer With Rat Poison
Operatives of the Nigerian Police Force, Ondo State Command have arrested a 14-year-old housemaid who attempted to kill her employer with rat poison. The teen’s employer has since been identified as Alhaji Nasiru Akinlosotu while the incident happened at Adetomowo Street, Ondo town, Ondo State.
According to Alhaji Akinsolotu, 63, his wife asked Mary to prepare beans for the family but the maid allegedly added rat poison to the food. It was while he was eating the food that he noticed a strange taste and offensive odour. He then vomited what he had already eaten and asked the maid, Mary Akinnifesi, about the content of the food. Alhaji Nasiru Akinlosotu said:
“It was in the course of interrogation by our neighbour that the maid confessed that she put rat poison into my own share of the food. She also confessed that she decided to add poison to my food because I beat her anytime she committed an offence in the house.”
The housemaid has been handed over to the police at Yaba Police Division in Ondo town.
