Shatta Wale Has Told A Jamaican Media That Stonebwoy Used To Come To Him For Dancehall Tutorials — Do You Agree?
While revealing he revived dancehall in Africa, Shatta Wale told a Jamaican media that Stonebwoy used to come to him for dancehall tutorials. He told Kingston based radio Newstalk93 on the ‘nightly fix’ show that the genres dancehall and reggae were least appreciated in Africa some years back.
According to Shatta Wale, dancehall and reggae musicians were seen as rude, violent and unimportant. Hence, it became difficult for dancehall artists to make it. The dancehall king who is also known as Charles Nii Armah Mensah, also disclosed that people struggled to understand what the genre of music was all about and as such, he had to blend local dialects with the Jamaican patois to make the songs appealing to Ghanaians.
Shatta Wale told DJ Burn that it was his hardwork and overall success that encouraged other artists to follow his path. Even dancehall singer Stonebwoy used to come to him to learn because of his great potentials and motivation.
