Hip Hop Star Meek Mill Has Been Sent Back To Jail For Up To 4 Years For Parole Breach
Meek Mill has been sent back to Jail for up to four years for breaching the terms of his parole. On Monday, a judge ruled two new arrests meant he had once again failed to live up to the conditions of his release.
However, the rapper’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, thinks the adjudicator has a personal bias against his client who was convicted of drug dealing and gun possession back in 2008.. He disclosed to TMZ that he believes Judge Genece E. Brinkley went against prosecutors recommendation for no prison sentence. The lawyer claims the judge has a ‘personal bias’ against Meek Mill and they plan to appeal the sentencing.
Tacopina also revealed that that last year, the judge had a meeting with Meek Mill in chambers and asked for him to do a remake of On Bended Knee by Boyz II Men and to give her a mention in the song. However, the rapper laughed off the request despite the judge insisting she was ‘not kidding’. It ebded with Judge Genece E. Brinkley telling the the Philly rap star ‘suit yourself’ after he refused.
One of the cases, for an alleged airport assault, which was dropped, was still used by the adjudicator for further punishment. The judge caused some drama in court after she told the 30-year-old he had been ‘thumbing your nose’ at her after she had given him multiple opportunities to go straight.
Meek was placed on house arrest in 2015 for a probation violation when he left Pennsylvania without proper approval. All of this stems from his original 2008 charges, for which he served eight months in prison.
