I’ll Star In Ghanaian Movies Only If They Have A Future And Are On Netflix — Abraham Attah
Abraham Attah has given two conditions for him to appear in a Ghanaian movie. The Beasts of No Nation star in an interview with Abeiku Santana, revealed he will only feature in local movies with future and must appear on an international platform like Netflix. He said:
“I haven’t gotten any script from any Ghanaian director but should they need my services to feature in a local movie, that movie should have a future and should be on an international platform like netflix. I have a manager in Ghana and in USA who send me scripts if only the movie is good.”
Abraham Attah played the character ‘Agu’ in Beasts of No Nation which was directed by Emmy Award-winning Cary Fukunaga. The movie also features Idris Elba.
He won Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at Venice Film Festival 2015, ‘Best Male Lead’ award at the 2016 Independent Spirit Awards, and also Rising Star Award’ at the Black Fim Critics Circle (BFCC). The award scheme called Attah’s role as “one of the strongest and most phenomenal we have ever seen” and added that he had “a very bright future ahead of him”.
