The goal came in after Edinson Cavani’s shot was palmed out to him by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson. Neymar was level with the previous 30-goal record set by Kaka when he scored a hat-trick in PSG’s 6-1 mauling of Red Star Belgrade in Serbia last month.
The 26-year-old after hitting the treble, became the 20th player to reach 30 goals in Europe’s premier club competition.
