T.I. has sent his prayers to the victims of and everyone affected by the Virginia beach mass shooting. He posted, ‘My heart goes out to all affected by this cowardly tragedy. #Pray4VirginiaBeach”.
There were some reactions from the rapper’s followers. One wrote, ‘Virginia Beach the city is fine. Let’s pray for PEOPLE. People who are going to jobs they don’t like, who need mental help, those with trauma, depression, anxiety, those who are one question, one day or one incident from the edge!! We praying for the wrong things.’
Another commented, ‘Man….this scene is becoming all to familiar. I’m super tired of it, when does it freakin end?!? Families mourning, children losing parent….all to ignorance!!! Prayers for the families of the fallen and wishing a speedy recovery for those wounded. Between Maleah Davis and this here, it’s just to much!!’
While someone penned thanking the “Whatever You Like” rapper, ‘Thank you for acknowledging this horrible tragedy. I have not seen any celebrity that I follow do it. I am VA born and raised and my friend lost his sister in law. It’s devastating.’
One commenter wants people to protect themselves with weapons. He claimed he was told to do so by the police, ‘If you live In a world where lead is being thrown at u, you best have some lead to throw back. I was involved in a shooting and I had nothing to protect myself with. Bullets flying over my head between my legs and I’m blessed to be alive but I’m not stupid. Cops took 2.5 hours to show up and when they got there the advice to me was to invest in a weapon. Because they can’t be there to protect you when you most need it. In that moment, when you’re being shot at, if you have no weapon to defend yourself you might as well just be a target. If you are law abiding and level headed you should own a weapon. Why? Because all the criminals have them and you can’t fight a gun battle with your fists.’
