Current News Headlines: Memphis Man Arrested After Attempting To Rape Woman
An ex-boyfriend identified as Demarco Morris, has been arrested and charged with attempted rape after attacking a woman inside her Fox Meadows home.
Trouble started on June 17, when Morris offered to pay his ex-girlfriend to wash his clothes and take him to work the next morning. While inside the home, he came onto the woman as though he wanted to cuddle up. However, she declined his advances which led to an argument. It was then he wrapped his hands around her neck, pinned her to the bed and stated that he was going to rape her. He then allegedly ripped off her shirt and tried to take off her pants.
During the attack, Morris threatened to kill her and then himself. He struck the woman repeatedly in the face and also, broke one of her nails, pulled out one of her braids and broke her $1,000 cellphone.
Demarco Morris was arrested on Monday and charged with attempted aggravated rape, aggravated assault and vandalism.
