Celebrity Gossip Of The Day: Lizzo ‘Truth’ Hurts’ Tops Hot 100, Cardi B Praises Singer
Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” tops Hot 100 chart! The track debuted at No. 50 and had been steadily moving up the chart before taking the top spot. The singer has now joined only a handful of black women including Cardi B, Beyonce and Rihanna who have landed the top spot on the chart. The singer received praise from Cardi whose “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It” went number one in 2018. She tweeted:
“The fact that Lizzo a couple months ago felt underestimated and now she have a #1!!!!BITCH! take that!take that ! Makes me emotional,” Cardi tweeted. “It’s the best feeling in the world.”
Meanwhile, Lizzo tweeted the news Tuesday along with a thank you to her fans.
“We’re number 1. This is a W for all of us. Anybody who ever felt like they voice wasn’t heard. Anybody who felt like they weren’t good enough. You are. We are. Champions. I love yall 3 much. Lizzbians unite.”
