US Hip Hop News Today: DaBaby Detained Following Miami Robbery Arrest
Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, popularly known as DaBaby, has been arrested and booked into a Miami-Dade County jail, court records show. It’s understood that the rapper was picked up for battery on Thursday (Jan. 2) in connection to a robbery in Miami.
According to TMZ, the alleged victim is a concert promoter who met with DaBaby and his entourage in order to pay the rapper for a job. However, it’s gathered that DaBaby allegedly accused the promoter of being short on “several thousand dollars” owed to him.
A video has also surfaced online showing the “Suge” rapper being placed into the backseat of a patrol vehicle on Thursday (Jan. 2). About seven police cars were spotted at the scene when the rapper was being detained, according to TMZ.
The Miami Police Department confirmed the 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, was taken to police headquarters and was being questioned by robbery detectives.

TMZ has also obtained footage of alleged members of his entourage appearing to assault a man. The group can be seen taking the victims money and other items. The North Carolina rapper was transported to Miami police headquarters and probed by detectives.
