Even though the year is still fresh, Nigerians are looking forward to a great 2021. Many do not want all the negative drama of the previous year as it was full of death, poverty and so much more worldwide.
Of course, in Nigeria, the COVID-19 pandemic shocked many as the disease claimed lives irrespective of status in the society. Although most are more familiar with preventive measures against the Coronavirus today, it is still killing people.
Another highlight of 2020 was the #EndSARS protests. Fed up Nigerian youths took to the streets to register their dissatisfaction with police brutality and bad governance in the country.
Unfortunately, the peaceful protest ended in tragedy with reports that armed men in uniform opened fire on civilian youths holding on to the national flag.
Social media was set on fire with images of blood-soaked national flags. There were also reports of hoodlums looting which were captured on camera as well as hardened criminals escaping from prison.
With all these in mind, Yul Edochie took to his Instagram page with a message of hope. He wrote:
“Joy, peace and progress shall follow us this year.”
