A lot of people are of the belief that if you are single at a certain age of maturity, something must have gone wrong.
There appears to be an all round stigma attached to being single when with your relatives, friends and even at the work place. However, what many people fail to understand is that it has become a matter of choice and not being overlooked or being irresponsible.
Those that are still single feel a lot of shame especially when with people within their age bracket who have since gotten married and blessed with lovely kids.
This makes them feel like failures and they begin to blame themselves.
However, this should not be so. In a recent Instagram post, Mimi Orjiekwe stated clearly that the being single is “just” a status. The actress also pointed out that even those still searching may end up not even finding the person to take away their single relationship status.
She wrote;
“Just because you haven’t found the right person.. doesn’t mean you will.. being single is just a status not destiny biko..”
