A lot of people yearn for change in different aspects of life but they fail to realize that it begins with them.
To start with, change is not easy at all because you are dealing with people with a particular mindset. In many instances as seen in African countries, corruption has been embraced.
Not many would like to give up on their thieving fingers to help their country prosper.
Change comes with a lot of personal sacrific e which when pursued, could cost human lives. In Nigeria, there was the 2020 Lekki shooting which saw youths come out in large numbers to protest against police brutality and bad governance in general.
It didn’t end well as the Nigerian Army allegedly opened fire on peaceful End SARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos State, Nigeria.
However, the authority insist that no life was lost but the protest marked the beginning of what Nigerians can do when they become fed up and demand change.
The citizens have vowed to use the 2023 presidential elections to legally effect the “change” they deserve.
In a recent Instagram post, Juliet Ibrahim advised that change should actually begin with the individuals who yearn for it.
The popular actress wrote;
“I am only one I cannot do everything but I can do something and I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.
The change you yearn for in society, your homes and your life starts within YOU.
Be the CHANGE that you seek and it begins ONE individual at a time. #Leadership #AToastToLife”
