These days, a lot of people choose the type of casket they prefer to be buried in when they die. It could be in form of a plane, boat or even a fish. Yes, Essien Ndueso, the Special Assistant to the Akwa-Ibom state Governor on Media, disclosed that an Akwa-Ibom man chose to to ‘swim to the great beyond’ in a fish shaped casket.
Residents of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital, witnessed such a burial as a fish shaped casket was paraded in town. The caption of the post read:
“Could it be that the man loved eating fish, or he was a fisherman or came from the great ‘Iyak’ family? I witnessed this scene on Nwaniba road this morning around St Luke’s Hospital. Note, I didn’t say the man turned into a fish o, I only saw a fishlike casket. Perhaps my friend Uwemedimoh Umanah who owns a fish farm and also loves fisherman soup can explain this better why a man would choose to swim to eternal glory. Happy weekend folks.”
So much creativity even after death. Amebo Book readers, share with us other creative forms of casket you have seen. We would love to hear from you.
