Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu Rex, popularly known as Burna Boy, has unleashed his much anticipated album Twice As Tall and you can’t help but feel all the emotions and energies.
If you recall, Burna Boy’s 2019’s African Giant earned him his first Grammy nomination. The Nigerian artist had called for a fearless revolution across the continent and the worldwide diaspora. It was clear he wanted to empower the African youth to access their power on their own terms.
Sean “Diddy” Combs is executive producer of Burna Boy’s fifth studio album, Twice As Tall. This time, there’s an unifying sense of pan-African idealism in this latest project.
Meanwhile, production work is from the UK (Jae5 and P2J), the US (Timbaland, Mike Dean) and Nigeria (LeriQ, Telz and Rexxie).
On why his artwork has no title on it, Burna Boy explained on his Instagram page, “Honestly, no title cause I wanted the art to speak for itself, this album was a journey through a bunch of emotions and energies at different points in time. It has now morphed into something bigger than me. It serves as a bridge for mankind to show that we’re all different but still very much the same. I’m grateful for the unreal talents that came together from ALL over the world to pull this off. Shout out to the OG @diddy for coming on board and sprinkling his own unique spice on this! I hope I’m able to spark something in you when you listen. #TWICEASTALL“.
