Chris Brown Accused Of Not Paying Child Support for His Daughter Royalty
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Nia Guzman who is mother to Chris Brown’s daughter, Royalty, has accused the singer of not paying the $17,743 in child support as ordered back in February. She claims that Brown “has repeatedly engaged in conduct that dramatically increased the cost of litigation.” Guzman claims, “He has ignored deposition notices, offered to participate in mediation in a court hearing then failed to even respond to potential mediation dates when proposed, and ignored settlement offers altogether.”
Guzman also insists Brown’s actions have created “a great hardship” for her because she does not work and relies on the support from him, calling him “an admitted extraordinary high earner.” She claims he makes $7.5 million a year.
In total, she’s seeking $258,285.24 in back support (which includes retroactive support from the beginning of the case) plus sanctions and “the value of housing that [Brown] agreed to supply.”
Last year, Guzman and Brown got into a nasty legal battle over custody and support. The singer was paying $2,500 per month in support and another $4,000 for a nanny, who happens to be Nia’s mother. She believed she should receive $21,000 plus per month and that she was owed $250,000 in retroactive child support.
However,
Brown filed documents to fight Guzman’s attempt to get more money, claiming this is already the third time she has asked for an increase in support. He claims based on Guzman’s own financial documents, between her income, Brown’s support, and the spousal support she receives from a prior marriage … Guzman ends up with a surplus each month of $6,628 a month.
