Celebrity News And Gossip: Denzel Washington Gushes Over Wife As His Biggest Life Achievement
Two-time Oscar winner, Denzel Washington, was the guest of honor at the 47th AFI Life Achievement Award gala tribute on Thursday in honor of his career, life and legacy. When quizzed by ET as he walked the red carpet at the star-studded event which was held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, where he was joined by his spouse of 35 years, Pauletta Washington, on his biggest achievement in life, Denzel clearly gushes over his wife .
The actor turned to his wife, and she smiled as said, “his four children.”
“[Actually] I was pointing to her,” Denzel replied with a smile, nodding at his lady love. “That’s my biggest lifetime achievement.”
When asked how it felt to receive the coveted honor from the American Film Institute, and to be the center of attention at a night recognizing his accomplishments, Denzel admitted:
“I’m humbled, I’m grateful, I’m thankful… I’ve never done this before so I can’t really tell you how I feel.”
“It doesn’t feel like other times I’m on the red carpet. I’m usually promoting a film or at an award show. [Here] I’ve already won, I guess, so it’s different. It’s relaxed.”
