Adaeze Onuigbo might just be a 14-year-old, but her maturity when it comes to reasoning, sometimes surpasses her age.
She recently stated via her Instagram page that people should not expect everyone to love them. The teen Nollywood actress makes a lot of sense as one should not assume that everyone will have positive feelings towards them.
Hence, it is important to prioritize self-acceptance and self-love over seeking external validation.
Truthfully, people should not take things personally if someone does not reciprocate one’s feelings or affections. It is only normal that individuals have their preferences, biases, and past experiences that can impact their opinions and attitudes towards others.
She wrote;
“Don’t expect everyone to love you!!!
Some will pretend to love you,some will mock you,some will criticise you but do not allow it to weigh you down,because same people are going to come to enjoy with you,when you finally make it. Persistence is the key, also ask God for his grace. One love”.
The post clearly shows that it is not healthy to rely solely on external validation to feel good about oneself. Instead, one should focus on building a positive relationship with oneself and prioritize their own happiness and well-being.
