Hip Hop New Music Releases: Drake Gets Beatles Tattoo To Celebrate Chart Record
Drake got a new tattoo on his left forearm to celebrate his record-breaking chart record. The ink which was revealed by Word On Road, shows the “In My Feelings” rapper standing in front of The Beatles in an image inspired by the band’s Abbey Road album cover. The Toronto rapper leads the pack, while the four band members walk behind him in a single-file line down the crosswalk on Abbey Road in London. Drizzy’s play on the iconic 1969 cover art is a nod to him passing The Beatles for the second-most top 10s in the history of the Billboard Hot 100. He achieved this with “Money in the Grave” featuring Rick Ross in June. He now has 35 top 10 hits, behind only Madonna, who leads with 38.
Drake rapped about the milestone (“I got more slaps than The Beatles”) on Meek Mill’s “Going Bad,” which was a reference to him surpassing The Beatles’ record for most top 10 hits on the Hot 100 in a single year.
