Latest News USA: North Carolina Dad Strangles And Slits 15-Year-Old Daughter’s Throat
The grisly murder of a 15-year-old North Carolina girl, Zaria Burgess, of Monroe, North Carolina, at the hands of her own father were revealed in court Monday. The accused man, Joshua Burgess, 32, of Wesley Chapel, North Carolina walked into the Union County Sheriff’s office around 9.30am on Sunday and told dispatchers he’d killed his teenage daughter inside his home on Hampton Meadows Road, according to WSOC-TV. This was during her visit to her father’s home for the weekend. However, the prosecutor did not give a motive or explain the details that led up to the crime after the accused confessed to strangling his daughter before slitting her throat.
‘It’s just pure evil,’ Union County Sheriff spokesman Tony Underwood told reporters.
Meanwhile, on June 23, Joshua made a photo of Zaria his Facebook profile picture. The teen’s cousin, Dytaysha Wadswort, told reporters Zaria was kind girl who loved her family.
‘She was the type of kid to come in a room come or in a house and say, “Hey everybody,” Just wanting to make everybody smile,’ Wadsworth told WSOC-TV. ‘She was so young and nobody deserves to leave this world like that, especially by someone they thought was gonna protect them and be there for them.’
