Cry For Help: Woman With Hydrocephalus Baby Turned Away Over Lack Of Beds At Korle-Bu Hospital
A woman whose infant daughter has been suffering from Hydrocephalus, has been turned away over lack of beds at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra.
It’s understood the mother discovered her child’s condition when there was a swelling on the head of her daughter at birth. She then took the infant to the Nsawam Government Hospital. However, when she got there, she was given a transfer letter to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment. In an interview with UTV, she revealed being told to pay GHc5,000 before her daughter could be admitted in the hospital and undergo an operation.
Despite trying to raise the money through every available means, her hydrocephalus baby was eventually rejected with the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital claiming there was not enough beds for the sick baby.
