On June 24, 2018, D’Banj lost his son, Daniel jnr. The toddler drowned in a swimming pool in the singer’s Ikoyi, Lagos home. This happened while the ‘Kokomaster’ was in Los Angeles, US, for the BET Awards.

D’Banj has just taken to social media to reveal how “incredibly trying and difficult” these past weeks have been for him. He also expressed gratitude for the support he’s received from his team and fans during this period.
