News Media: Grieving And Enraged Son Attacks Michigan Man Accused Of Killing Wife After Cigarettes Spat
The son of a woman who police say was killed by her husband after a fight over cigarettes flew at the murder suspect in a Michigan courtroom. In the video, the grieving and enraged son almost reaches the man. The incident reportedly took place in Muskegon County District Court on Monday as Vashon Flowers was waiting for his preliminary hearing to begin. Investigators have disclosed that Jamie Thomas-Flowers killed his victim at her home in Muskegon last month.
In the surveillance video which was obtained by MLive.com, London Thomas is seen jumping over a barrier and almost getting at Flowers who was in the jury box rocking a bright jumpsuit. About four security guards quickly intervened, tackled Thomas and forcibly restrained him.
According to MLive, Thomas was arrested and had his own court appearance on Tuesday. He was held in contempt of court and will not be allowed to attend any future hearings connected to Flowers. Authorities allege that Flowers, 46, kicked in Thomas-Flowers’ door and shot her four times on May 19. He turned himself in that night.
It’s gathered that the couple argued over cigarettes a few hours before Thomas-Flowers was killed. They had bith recently quit smoking.
Flowers, who was charged with murder, had been denied bail due to multiple prior convictions.
