Celebrity News And Gossip: Halle Berry Kisses Lena Waithe On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
According to The Chi creator, her fiancée gave her a pass for the smooch after Halle Berry kissed her while on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” It was definitely the first time Lena Waithe would hold down such a gig. During the opening monologue, she told Guillermo, Kimmel’s co-host, that she was “feeling a little nervous” and needed some words of encouragement. He then said they could press the “Berry Button” if it was something “berry important.” When they did, Halle Berry came on the stage.
Berry who was rocking an Ol’ Dirty Bastard tank, showered Waithe with motivation. When the lights dimmed, she said:
“I know that you are a force of nature. You are a beautiful African American queen.”
“Lena, tonight you are a writer, an actor, a producer, and tonight you are a late night comedian and you ’bout to slay. And you already winnin’ girl ’cause you are dressed way better than Jimmy ever was.”
When asked by Halle Berry if she was good or wanted something else, Waithe replies that she’s good, but Berry disagrees. It was then she grabbed Waithe’s face and kisses her. When the host shared a clip of the moment on her Instagram page, a concerned commenter was ready to fight. However, Waithe was quick to reply, “Alana gave me a pass.”
Waithe and film production executive Alana Mayo, have been engaged since 2017.
