Current News Headlines: Father Pretended to Be a Teen And Caught the Child Predator Pursuing His 13-Year-Old Daughter
A southern Indiana has finally caught a 29-year-old “child predator” who had been pursuing his daughter on Facebook. It’s understood the smart parent pretended to be his teenage child whom Brandon Ruff was chasing after discovering that Ruff had been reaching out.
The father had been checking on his child’s social media account when the discovery was made.
According to Scott County Sheriff Jerry Godin, the man pretended to be his child and convinced Ruff into making an arrangement for them to meet up at their home in rural Scott County.
Ruff faces charges of false informing, child solicitation, and child molestation with a child under 14-years old using a computer and travelling to the child. The sheriff’s office also say Ruff had a fake Facebook account with the name Sammy Castro. They believe he pretends to be a wrestler to gain the trust of different children.
The authorities are believed to be on the look out for other cases where Ruff might be involved. Parents are being encouraged to check their children’s Facebook account as well as Messenger chats to see if they could be victims.
