Latest News USA: 15-Year-Old Arrested Over School Shooting Threat – ’He’s Just A Little Boy!’ Florida Mum Tells Deputies
A Florida teen has been arrested for a school shooting threat. The 15-year-old wrote that he vowed “to bring my fathers m15 to school and kill 7 people at a minimum” on Discord, a video game messaging app. His mum is heard telling deputies he’s “just a little boy” as he was being arrested.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office posted video of the arrest and heated exchange with the mother. An officer in the video said the teen was under arrest for making a threat to cause a mass shooting/act of terrorism, which is a felony. The mother said that her son isn’t “one of those crazy people out there” and he “shouldn’t be treated as though he’s a terrorist.”
“How do we know he’s not going to be the kid from Parkland, he’s not going to be the next kid, the kid that shot up Sandy Hook? We don’t know that,” the officer responded.
The cops told the boy’s mum that her son will be charged as a juvenile and taken to a juvenile jail.
“Joke or not, these types of comments are felonies under the law,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.
“After the mass violence we’ve seen in Florida and across the country, law enforcement officers have a responsibility to investigate and charge those who choose to make these types of threatening statements.”
