Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has taken to social media to reveal how young ladies can achieve success in their chosen careers and life.
Funke Akindele is a role model to many Africans across the world. “Jenifa” as she is popularly known, advised her millions of fans across the world to “remain focused and keep working hard” if they want to also be successful.
The “A Tribe Called Judah” star who recently celebrated the record-breaking achievements of the movie, encouraged young ladies not to give up while pursuing their dreams. She wrote:
“Thank you!!! To all the young ladies out there, just know that you can also achieve success. Remain focused and keep working hard. “.
While reacting to her post and the movie being such a box office hit, Akindele’s colleague Deyemi Okanlawon hilariously reacted: “My darling Sis Funke… congratulations! Abeg you fit borrow #AllsFairInLove just the . (point)? Tenx a billion! ♥️♥️”.
Grace-Charis Bassey Effah was not left out as she commented “Aww what Grace looks like” while Chinonso Arubayi stated clearly that “When you are big, you are big!! Congratulations Ma’m”.
The fans also celebrated Funke Akindele.

Funke Akindele, born Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele on August 24, 1977, in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria, has made a massive name for herself in the history of the Nigerian film industry. She is a great actress, filmmaker, producer and of course, director. Her groundbreaking sitcom “I Need to Know” which aired from 1998 to 2002, was her start to fame. She played the inquisitive yet intelligent Bisi. However, it was the 2008 movie “Jenifa” that catapulted her to fame as millions of fans hailed her performance. In fact, it earned Funke the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
Not done, Funke Akindele reprised her role in the television series adaptation titled “Jenifa’s Diary”. She picked up multiple awards which includes the Best Actress in a Comedy at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. This no doubt helped her to become one of Nollywood’s most celebrated actresses and filmmakers.
Funke Akindele also made her cinematic directorial debut with the 2019 political drama film “Your Excellency.”
She was also recently honoured with the Special Achievement Award courtesy of the Silverbird Man of the Year 2024.
