Yomi Fabiyi Blasts Federal Government Over Human Rights Abuses On Citizens
The Nigerian actor isn’t impressed with the way law enforcement torture, batter and assault the citizens. In fact, Yomi Fabiyi has written an open letter to the Federal Government complaining bitterly on the human rights abuses and the need to restructure the health sectore. In an Instagram post, he wrote:
“The series of Human Rights Abuses are alarming.
This is a clear case of National and Global Health Emergency where some Human Rights have to be overlooked or set aside. One of such does not include Rights against Torture, Assault and refusal to Treatment amongst others.
The government by now through the Senate and House of Representatives ought to be debating on how to restructure and rebuild the HEALTH SECTOR of this country, while quality consideration be given to our citizenship so it can have meaning, security and National DATABASE.
If the law enforcement have some basic infrastructures, TORTURE, BATTERING and ASSAULT will cease to be the major tool of investigation. Torture by anyone not prescribed by the court of law is CRIMINAL, ANTI-SOCIAL and EVIL.
The way you Law Enforcement shoot, beat, slap and torture those in your custody, how will you feel if same is done to your mother, father, wife, husband, son or daughter? Have you ask yourself this question? Be humane and treat people with dignity and respect.
Yomi Fabiyi.”
