A lot of people entered into the year with high expectations and big dreams to get married, go on that exotic vacation, plan a business – the list is endless.
However, the coronavirus pandemic dealt a deadly blow to people around the world while leaving many mourning the death of loved ones, workers lost their jobs, while the lockdown was also enforced.
The Nigerian youths also took to the streets in peaceful protests against police brutality in Nigeria. The #EndSARS movement came into play with several Nigerians crying out against bad governance. The protests later took a violent turn with reports of men in uniform opening fire on unarmed peaceful protesters.
The #EndSARS protests was later hijacked by hoodlums who looted every shop on sight and this happened nationwide.
Despite all these, the year was a blessing for some as they welcomed babies and were still able to achieve some personal goals.
While reflecting on the year, Mike Godson stated clearly in an Instagram post that he will never forget 2020. Quite frankly, nobody will. Anyway, he wrote:
“2020 a year I’ll never forget.😊”
