On April 12, 2021, several celebrities were honoured at the Eko Star Film and TV Awards which was hosted by the Lagos state government to celebrate women who have achieved in the movie industry.
The venue at the Ebony Life Place in Lagos was filled with all of your favourite movie stars such as Uche Jombo, Toyin Abraham, Joke Silva, Nancy Isime, Dakore Egbuson Akande, Shaffy Bello, Ini Edo amongst others.

However, one notable actress loved by all, Ebele Okaro was absent due to “circumstances beyond my control”.
However, the thespian received a Special Recognition Award for her Outstanding Contribution to the Nigerian film and television industry.
The proud actress who enjoys playing motherly roles in movies, posted photos of her award on her Instagram page. She wrote:
“It’s not by my might but by the Grace of God.
Couldn’t make the event because of circumstances beyond my control.
I am honoured, humbled, grateful and thankful.
