Joseph Teye: Police Declare Man Wanted After He Accused Girlfriend Patience Tei Of Infidelity And Severed Her Hand At Aponoapono In Eastern Region
The Ghanaian police are hunting for 24-year-old farmer, Joseph Teye, after he allegedly cut off the left arm of his girlfriend at Aponoapono a village near Suhum on Saturday. It’s understood that the suspect had accused the victim, Patience Tei, 20, of infidelity.
According to reports, Joseph Teye placed a phone call to Patience Tei while she was in church and when she stepped out to receive the call, he chopped off her hand with a machete. She’s currently on admission at the Suhum Government Hospital receiving treatment.
ASP Ebenezer, the Eastern Regional Police PRO, confirmed the incident adding that the police have declared the suspect wanted and have vowed to arrest him to face the full rigours of the law. However, he said that the police will need the support of residents of Aponoapono and surrounding areas to arrest Joseph Teye.
