Beyonce continues to trigger emotions following the release of Black Is King. The film was released on Disney+ with music from the singer’s 2019 album The Lion King: The Gift. Its depictions of Blackness has left viewers full of emotions as it highlights a number of African artists and creators. A lot of black people around the world feel empowered and uplifted due to the project. In fact, a little girl was filmed crying while reacting to the film. She heard saying through tears, “It’s so beautiful”.
Ms. Tina Lawson shared video of on her Instagram page which had initially been posted by the little girl’s aunt.
“This has me in tears. It makes all the stress and worry, all the haters , and negativity that was put out there to try to destruct , tear down and deter from her intentions . But this video makes it all worth while!!!!
“This is the message that Beyonce worked so hard to convey , I prayed hard that the message would get through and that little black girls everywhere could see the beauty that is in our Black people and our culture and our ancestors. She is beautiful and so is this!!!!”
Thankfully, Beyonce takes note of her mother’s Instagram feed and when she saw the video, she went right ahead to call the little girl thanking her and the aunt for their reaction.
“She just wanted to personally thank my niece for such a beautiful reaction to her love letter to Africa,” her aunt shared on Twitter. “She also wanted to tell her how gorgeous she is and tell her quote ‘you are my gift.'”
