“I’m in awe of how far I’ve come” — Makeva Jenkins: Woman Was Shot Dead After Posting On Facebook How She Went From Being Homeless To Making Six Figures — “I’m in awe of how far I’ve come”
Things are really happening oh! How hateful some people can be. A Florida woman was shot dead after posting on Facebook how she went from being homeless to making six figures. Makeva Jenkins, 33, in an inspiring post, wrote in her last FB post:
“We overcame being homeless in 2013/2014 to reaching my six figure mark in 2015 to now making multi six figures.”
“No matter what the road looked like, I followed my heart and stuck with it growing my business,” she wrote. “I’m saying this to say, anyone can do it. It takes determination and consistency.”
Two hours later, a masked suspect knocked on her door with the early hours of Thursday, around 2 a.m., met people in the house where there was an altercation. In the process, Makeva Jenkins was shot dead and the mother of three, later died from the wounds. However, it’s unclear if the victim was the target of the attack.
“Regretfully, the news reports are true,” a friend or family member posted on her Facebook page on Thursday. “The family of Makeva Jenkins asks that their privacy be respected at this most trying time.”
According to a sheriff’s spokesperson, the suspect fled in the family’s vehicle and ditched it nearby.
She married Euri Jenkins in 2011.
“She was a very loving person. She loved her kids, and loved her family and loved her husband,” said Patricia Clarke, who is an assistant coach of Jenkins’ daughter’s travel basketball team.
Makeva Jenkins had two daughters aged 1 and 13, and a son, 7. The 13-year-old girl is on the All Ball Elite travel team and Jenkins spent the past month traveling the state to support her daughter.
“I’m in awe of how far I’ve come. This lady reached out to me about my business plans. We’ve been Facebook friends for years but the last time we spoke through private message was 8/2011. In this message I was inquiring about Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University offered through her church. I couldn’t even afford $99 at that time.
Fast forward to now: We overcame being homeless in 2013/2014 to reaching my six figure mark in 2015 to now making multi six figures. No matter what the road looked like, I followed my heart and stuck with it growing my business.
I’m saying this to say, anyone can do it. It takes determination and consistency.”
