Current News Headlines: Houston Man Dressed As Security Guard Shoots 1-Year-Old Boy In The Chest And Flees
Houston police are after a man who they say shot a little 1-year-old boy identified as Brandon Ross, in the chest and fled the scene. The incident reportedly happened on May 1 while the little boy rode with his brother alongside their father on the Southwest Freeway in Houston.
According to ABC 13, while driving, the father hit the back of the suspect’s car accidentally. This sparked a road rage incident with the suspect who was wearing a security guard uniform. The man then got out of his car, a blue Buick Lucerne or Regal and approached the father. He then “began to yell at the deaf father, who could not understand him,” while waving a gun.
The father told the authorities that he tried to apologize and explain to the man that he had children in the car. Despite that, he still fear for their safety so he drove off. The suspect fired shots at the car, striking the toddler boy in the chest, then got back in his car and fled the scene. He stopped at a gas station along Southwest Freeway and in a panic, rushed inside while holding Brandon. First responders arrived and took the boy to an area hospital. He’s expected to survive.
The suspect is described as a black male who stands around 5-feet-10-inches with short black hair. He was wearing a “black security guard uniform and a holstered firearm.”
