Nigeria is celebrating its 60th independence anniversary today, October 1. However, not too many are impressed with the progress in the country. In fact, a lot of celebrities have taken to social media to express their frustrations and disappointment with the leaders.
On her part, Patience Ozokwo admitted words had failed her today. However, the Nollywood actress wished Nigerians well and even prayed for good roads, electricity and leaders that can move the country forward. She wrote:
“Usually I’m all for words but today words fail me . We’ve had 60 years to get it right. Happy 60th Independence day Nigeria . May we truly be free and independent in our beloved country. May we have a voice and may our voice be heard. May women and children be free to live. May lives be safe and basic human right enforced. May we have good health system, good roads, electricity and most importantly good leaders. May there be unity amongst us. May we be proud of our dear country Nigeria”.
