Entertainment News Today Headlines: Meek Mill Denied Entry At Cosmopolitan Hotel; Lawyers Cite Racism
Robert Rihmeek Williams popularly known as Meek Mill, was recently denied entry at Las Vegas Cosmopolitan Hotel & Casino.
According to TMZ, the “Going Bad” rapper/activist went to the hotel at around 3:30 Pacific time on Saturday to attend a DJ Mustard show. However, they were told by security that they wouldn’t be able to get into the premises. When quizzed as to why Meek was not allowed to enter, the security guard’s response was simply, “I don’t know why.” The Philadelphia rapper’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, spoke to TMZ about the incident. He stated that the guard asserted that the decision “came from way higher up” than his position.
During the conversation, the security guard alleges that Meek was involved in some kind of physical altercation during a previous visit to the casino, something he claims is ‘impossible.’ Meek claimed he’d visited the casino once before in the company of former girlfriend Nicki Minaj to a Jay-Z show. Meek Mill has already taken to social media over the incident. He tweeted:
“If you come from our culture you should never step foot in the cosmopolitan hotel they just really racist as hell …. something really has to be done in Las Vegas what they doing to black people!”
“They telling black rappers they are banned from properties they own without incident … they just told me I was trespassing and I will be arrested I stepped in that hotel once at a jayz party without incident!”

Tacopina is expected to write a letter to the Cosmopolitan accusing the hotel of maintaining “a list of African American recording artists who should be denied access for no other reason than their culture and skin color.

TMZ obtained a copy of the letter in which Tacopina went on to threaten legal action against the hotel and casino. He wrote:
“Such course of conduct constitutes discrimination per se, in violation of state and federal law, and exposes you to significant monetary damage.”
“[…] we urge you to promptly issue an apology to Mr. Williams and grant him immediate access. In the event you fail to heed this one and only warning, we intend to pursue all legal recourse against you.”
