Rachael Okonkwo has disclosed her reason for the annual “Mega Carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka”.
In a post recently shared on her Instagram page, the popular Nollywood actress disclosed that it was “to give back to the society and put a smile on people’s faces”.
This was made known just before the seventh edition of the event.
She wrote;
“Carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka is basically to give back to the society and put a smile on people’s faces. This 7th Edition will be supper dope.”
Meanwhile, in a statement sent to Saturday Beats (PunchNG), the movie star disclosed that over 5,000 children and families will benefit from the charity event cum carnival.
She said;
“Since 2015 when I started this programme, my aim has always been to reach out to underprivileged people, including widows, in society. By the grace of God, each edition has been bigger and better than the others.
“I expect to host over 5,000 kids and families. This is our way of giving back to society.
“We will also give out stationery and other items to kids, while widows will receive foodstuff. We will equip the youth with empowerment tools as well, in order to significantly reduce the rate of unemployment and give them an opportunity to showcase their talents.”
