Kanayo O. Kanayo has some major advice for parents who compare their children with others.
A lot of kids come under intense stress and anxiety when under pressure to please their parents. Sadly, this type of comparison leads to the children suffering low self-esteem and eventually, they will begin to engage in some anti-social behaviour.
Truthfully, every individual has his/her own strength which needs to be encouraged to bring out the best in the children.
According to Theodore Roosevelt, “Comparison is the thief of joy.”
Hence, when parents make this mistake, the kids begin to feel worthless and incapable of being good at anything.
