Hip Hop Entertainment News: Nicki Minaj And Jimmy Fallon Dinner Date At Red Lobster
Did you know that before Nicki Minaj became a famous rapper, she worked at Red Lobster? Well, on Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show, the “Anaconda” rapper revisited the restaurant for a “dinner date” with Jimmy Fallon.
“I have worked at a couple different Red Lobsters,” Minaj explained on the way to one of the chain’s New York locations, “and I’ve gotten fired from all three or four of them.”
Right from the get-go, it was made clear that the host of “The Tonight Show” was expected to pay. However, Minaj picked up Fallon in a hot pink SUV limo and, because she comes with the experience of having been fired from several Red Lobsters, was able to walk him through the menu with ease because the visit marked a first for Fallon.
The “Good Form” rapper also opened up to the host about the real reason she got fired from the establishment. She said it all started after a couple left the restaurant without tipping and stole her pen.
“I walked to the car; I banged on the car window and I said, ‘Give me my pen!'” she recalled, adding that she also gave them the bird and was fired right on the spot.
After the had finished with their meals, Fallon gave Minaj an opportunity to redeem herself as they both dressed up in staff uniforms and waited a few tables. While Minaj proved she hadn’t lost her touch, Fallon committed a few faux pas, including stealing customers’ drinks and cheddar bay biscuits. Once they finished, Minaj received a card giving her free biscuits for life. Fallon also gave her a pen to replace the stolen one.
“Oh my God! This is the nicest thing anyone’s ever given me,” the rapper said after receiving the biscuit bounty.
Despite Minaj and Fallon having so much fun together on the dinner date, it’s unlikely the night would have ended in a love connection. This is because they are both already in happy relationships with him with wife, film producer Nancy Juvonen, and her with boyfriend Kenneth Petty, who appeared in her music video “MEGATRON.”
