Naija Gist: Nigerian Man Who Vandalized London Embassy Cars Arrested
An angry Nigerian man who destroyed several cars at the Nigeria High Commission in London over delays with his passport, has been identified and arrested. Amebo Book had earlier reported that Ewohime Apkovweta had gone to the embassy to collect his passport but he arrived late. However, he insisted on collecting the passport despite not being able to provide his collection slip when asked for it.
It’s understood Apkovweta left appearing worried. However, he returned to unleash havoc leaving many vehicles destroyed. He was unable to destroy the High Commissioner’s car because it was bulletproof.
Apkovweta has now been arrested as confirmed in a statement by Chairman/CEO, Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).
In a statement by her media aide, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa described the act as an an unconscionable act of indiscipline and unpatriotic. Dabiri also added that she learned the young man has been arrested by the police. She wrote:
“I am told that he has been arrested by the police.”
“This is a despicable act, which must be condemned by all. Of course, the law must take its course.”
Meanwhile, Dabiri-Erewa also implored Nigerians to be good ambassadors of the country at all times and to exercise restraints.
