Entertainment Tonight Celebrity News: Nipsey Hussle’s Sister Gets Custody Of His Daughter, Ex Tanisha Leaves Court Furious
Nipsey Hussle’s ex Tanisha, left the courtroom looking furious after the late rapper’s sister, Samantha Smith, gained custody of her 10-year-old daughter with Hussle, Emani. She left the court looking visibly upset and sad telling the camera that she’s “pissed off” about the case.
Meanwhile, Emani has been with Samantha since Nipsey was shot to death. In a video obtained by TMZ, Tanisha is seen leaving the court looking angry after a court appearance on May 20. Samantha and Nipsey’s family were in court to claim they felt Tanisha was unfit to have custody of Emani due to some legal issues she’s had and after the hearing, the case was closed with another court date set to take place in July.
According to Tanisha’s lawyer, Larry Lewellyn, he’s working with Nipsey’s family to set up a visitation schedule for Tanisha and Emani that will be in Emani’s best interest.
It comes as no surprise Samantha wanting so desperately to keep Emani having been a big part of the young girl’s life even before Nipsey was killed. In her petition when filing for guardianship, she wrote that she was seeking custody because she wants to “ensure the continued stability for Emani and ensure that she will be able to maintain her current and ongoing relationship” with her.
Last week Tanisha broke down in court after claiming she hadn’t seen Emani in months. The judge gave her 20 minutes to be with her daughter privately.
Tanisha has had a rough past which may even go against her in future dates of the custody case. Not only is there a warrant for her arrest right now due to an unsettled DUI case that took place in 2017, she’s also been arrested many times between 2006 and 2007.
In addition to Emani, Nipsey had two-year-old son Kross at the time of his death but Kross’ mother, Lauren London, has custody of him.
