As the #EndSARS protests continues to gather momentum, several celebrities have taken to the streets and social media to put an end to police brutality. Mercy Johnson just shared a post on her Instagram page to encourage her fans not get used to the pain and suffering to the extent that “we shut up and sigh” rather than “stand up and shout”.
She wrote alongside photos of victims of police brutality/incompetence;
“May we never be too used to pain and suffering that we shut up and sigh when it’s time to stand up and shout!
“There are too many lives lost and too many voices silenced.
“Let’s speak up, wherever we are and however we can; our brothers and sisters are dying senselessly at the hands of the people who should protect us.
#EndSars #EndPoliceBrutality”.
