If you watch Nollywood movies, then you probably know that actors are easily stereotyped when it comes to roles. Not many like this but do not have a choice as the filmmakers think that is what the fans love most about them.
In a recent Instagram post, Ray Emodi expressed his frustrations over the same cliché “lover boy” roles which he keeps playing. Many fans have already grown used to seeing him act out perfectly such romantic roles.
However, the thespian appears fed up and wants producers to know that he has a “range” of acting skills good enough to take on any other role assigned to him.
He wrote;
“It was a really dope time playing this character. I have range so please producers don’t just come at me with the same cliché “lover boy” roles. But if it’s “lover boy” let’s make it a dope one. This one though…watch out for it. In it with the one that came before me @freddieleonard. Special shout-out to @ememisong for believing in me.
“PS: I’m not sure which is the final title of the movie but when the trailer is ready I’m upping it here for sure”.
