Chiwetalu Agu has been arrested by the police after he was manhandled by soldiers on Wednesday in Onitsha, Anambra state. It’s understood the popular Nollywood actor was spotted wearing an outfit with Biafra inscriptions.
The viral video which has since spread across social media, shows the 65-year-old veteran around Upper Iweka Bridge donning the Biafra outfit. He was clearly seen walking near a green bus when he was muscled to the ground near a green bus.
Meanwhile, the thespian was reportedly in Onitsha on a charity mission. The movie star usually gifts food items to the less privileged and that was what he was doing when he was arrested by soldiers.
According to punchng, a source said: “He was sharing food with some less privileged persons at Upper Iweka when the soldiers approached him and arrested him. He was manhandled and arrested and taken to their barracks”.
Chiwetalu Agu is a well known supporter of Biafra and he is usually seen in videos being critical of the regime of President Muhammadu Buhari for marginalising Igbo.
