Regina Hall Refused To Joke About Whitney Houston’s Drug Addiction
There are those that believe when it comes to comedy, especially when it comes to shooting up ratings, there’s no limit whether the person is dead, or alive. In a recent interview, while chatting with the Hollywood Reporter on her current project, Regina Hall explained why she refused to joke about Whitney Houston’s drug addiction. She recalled during the Comedy Actress Roundtable:
“There was a joke, and I can’t remember, but it was a joke I think about drugs and it was about Whitney Houston, and I was like, ‘I don’t want to say that.”
“Artists give so much… and so to make fun of what was a challenge and an illness [isn’t right].”
The writers of the show saw reason with Hall and decided to make the script change she proposed. The actress known for various turns in films like Girls Trip,The Best Man among others, praised the writing team’s flexibility.
