The Mbaise New Yam Festival also known as “Iri ji Mbaise” is celebrated yearly across the world who come together to mark the event. It is a major part of Igbo culture and tradition and as such, people activities are held in which people eat and drink while art is displayed including cultural displays that would grab anyone’s attention.
Also, different yam delicacies are prepared for the people to feast on.
In a new Instagram post, Kanayo O. Kanayo showed off his roasted yam with palm oil as he joined millions to celebrate the annual cultural festival by the Igbo people which is held at the end of the rainy season usually in early August.
He wrote;
“Today I join millions of our friends and well wishers as the Mbaise Nation celebrates her New Yam festival. A day to thank Chukwu okike for a bountiful harvest . God bless ala mbaise. Nde muru m, nde nwem ndewo nu. Please join me in this celebration saluting my people by typing, Ya gazieooooooo”.
