Social media users were left panicking yesterday, October 4th after Facebook, Instagram and even WhatsApp messaging service suffered global shutdown.
The outage lasted up to six hours.
It’s understood that Facebook’s internal tools and communications platforms, which includes Workplace, were affected.
According to multiple reports, the popular social networking service suffered a worldwide failure of external and internal services at the DNS, or Domain Name, level.
Facebook said in a tweet;
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience”.
Several businesses suffered loss including Nollywood celebs who use the various social media platforms for their brand ambassador marketing.
While reacting to the Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp messaging service outage, Regina Daniels stated clearly that it shows the “importance of communication and the power of the media”.
The thespian also expressed fears over her Regina Daniels Fashion clothing line which operates online.
