It is important to surround yourself with people who share the same goals and ambition as you do. This way, you can share ideas and ways to develop. Mind you, this is not to say that you should not interact with people who have different ideologies.
However, if you choose to be with those who are not necessarily into your goals, you will could have problems along the way. It is almost certain that your direction will be derailed if you are not strong-willed or focus-driven.
There might be debates with your friends who have strong views on certain directions to be taken in life. This may not necessarily be in line with your own mentality. They will give reasons why you will fail towards the path you have planned for yourself.
