Latest News USA: Tennessee Father Opens Fire On Police With His Three Kids In The Car
Things are really happening oh! Dashcam footage from La Vergne police in Tennessee captured the shocking moment a father identified as Darrien Williams, 21, opened fire on the police even with his three kids in the car. The suspect shoots at the officers through the windshield of his car not minding his children.
Trouble started when Smyrna police responded to an incident in which Williams fired his gun in his apartment. The cops found him in his black Chrysler 200 sedan but then ‘recklessly sped away,’ according to a Nashville police news release. Smyrna officers then called upon the neighboring La Vergne Police Department to assist in capturing Williams as they sped along a highway.
Williams can then be seen on camera firing at Goins, who was forced to jump out of his police SUV and crouch behind it to avoid being hit.
Goins and La Vergne Sergeant William Watson were then able to fire back as Williams could be seen running away on foot according to the Tennessean.
Williams’ three children, aged three, two and nine-months old were found in the back of his car after he ran off. The children were not harmed in the shooting, but were transported to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital to be evaluated.
The suspect was eventually caught while hiding inside a nearby home. He surrendered but refused to speak with officers.
Williams is currently jailed on $309,500 bail on charges of attempted murder of a police officer, felony evading arrest and three counts of child endangerment.
