It’s no longer news that Mike Edwards and his beautiful wife, Perri Shakes-Drayton, have welcomed their baby boy. The couple named him Matthew Olaoluwa Edwards and he was born August 26th at 7:00am. The new mum has been overwhelmed by the love and goodwill messages they’ve received from friends, family and of course fans. She wrote in an Instagram post which was accompanied with a picture of her husband cradling their new bundle of joy:
“AND THEN THERE WERE 3…Thank you for all the messages We The Edwards are definitely feeling the love for our new bundle of joy.
“Babe captured some very special moments, I’m glad we can share the real deal of my pregnancy story, head to our YouTube Channel #mikeandperri to see it”.
On his part, Mike Edwards wrote on his page, “Black women are five times more likely to die in pregnancy and childbirth. In the words of John Boyega, “We need to care of them. They are us. They are our future. We cannot demonize our own. We are the pillars of the family.“ To my wife, @itspsd you’re nothing short of amazing, and I’m so proud to be your husband and twice as excited that you’re the mother to our baby boy.”
